With membership spanning the globe, the current officers and members of the original council….proudly uphold the legacy of Father Michael J. McGivney and the men who started the Knights of Columbus. The history of San Salvador Council One is the early history of the Knights of Columbus.
The Stamford Saint Augustine Council was founded in 1887.
It was named after St. Augustine who was born on November 13th 354 at Thagaste in Numidia (now Souk-Ahras in Algeria). The Council works closely with the Catholic community in Stamford, CT providing funds for various projects, members being active participants in several parish’s activities.
